Some of our favourite places to eat in the West End of Glasgow

  • Partick Duck Club
  • Basta Pizza Bar
  • The Butchershop Bar & Grill
  • The Bothy

Partick Duck Club

Independent restaurant providing breakfast, brunch, lunch & dinner in Glasgow's vibrant West End.

Partick Duck Club has quickly been recognised as one of the best places to do breakfast & brunch not just in the West End but in Glasgow and beyond.

Visit Partick Duck Club

Owners Ross & Greig have almost two decades worth of experience in running restaurants and now that they have their own, they really have created something special. Their menu is modern, fresh and where possible locally sourced and on top of that, it is more than reasonably priced. Another thing that really impresses us is their breakfast menu, which is available all day long. Having sampled their food, we can honestly say that the Partick Duck Club is one of the very best restaurants in Glasgow. But don’t take our word for it; you must go and try for yourself!

Basta Pizza Bar

Laidback Partick pizza bar. Lovely, fresh pizza in an intimate little venue.

Visit Basta

With its tiled walls and stripped floors, BASTA’s fashionably low-key decor keeps the focus firmly on the gourmet pizzas on offer. Authenticity is a core value, with various ingredients being imported directly from Italy, including Polselli flour, Strianese tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil. Otherwise, much of the fresh produce is sourced as close to home as possible.

As you would expect, pizza plays a starring role on the menu and is accompanied by a range of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.

We think Basta is the best in the West for delicious Pizza.

The Butchershop Bar & Grill

Combining the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, superb Scottish beef, excellent service and a high energy atmosphere; The Butchershop Bar & Grill is the ultimate dining experience in Glasgow's West End

Visit Butchershop

Dry-aged, grass-fed beef matured for 45 days. Now tell us that doesn’t sound good to you. The Butchershop Bar & Grill is, without a doubt, the safest pair of hands with a steak in Glasgow’s West End - and they have plenty of cuts to satisfy a sizeable appetite. Relax in the Manhattan-style space of exposed bricks and round booths of sumptuous leather serving a meaty menu and enjoy the fabulous views of the wonderful Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery and Glasgow University Spire.

The Bothy

The Bothy is a quintessential Scottish bolthole, a well-established culinary institution tucked away from the throng of the busy West End and discovered via the charming cobbles of Ruthven Lane.

Visit The Bothy

The Bothy is something of a Glasgow institution. Well established, it has a strong reputation and a loyal following of fans of locally sourced ingredients and relaxed Scottish dining. With a menu driven by provenance and passion, you can always expect to find seasonal Scottish produce at the heart of the dishes at The Bothy. The menu reads like a must-try list of Scottish produce. The likes of Blueshell mussels from Shetland, wild venison from Ardgay Game, scallops from the Isle of Barra and goat’s cheese from Inverlochy all feature in the selection of starters. When it comes to the main menu, the roast duck from Gartmorn Farm is a firm favourite, and is available alongside other tempting options including Inverurie lamb and beer-battered Scrabster haddock.

No dinner is complete without a wee dram, so you can also expect to find a carefully curated drinks menu, packed full of Scottish whisky, gins, locally distilled spirits and more.
